Why are people with zero experience being promoted all the time? There are more than enough qualified folks but somehow the best candidates are the ones who have no experience for the position whatsoever. Please, as I said, explain it to me like I'm a five-year-old.

Major boys club going on in Optum. I was
shocked the su-k ups who have survived time after time layoffs. Also leaders blame resources/ structure and implement constant restructures to remain in a state of confusion. LOL

It is evident that they employ the "Buddy System," so refrain from challenging or intimidating me. Instead, show support and cooperation, and you will receive favorable treatment and opportunities for advancement.
They need "YES" middle management to carry out whatever deemed necessary without being challenged with "facts". Just keep on nodding and you just MIGHT get promoted... :-)
Likely a cost play.
Someone who has limited experience costs less than one who has a lot of experience.
I have been passed up for roles to others because my pay was too high for the business unit to absorb, so they went with a lower cost alternative, at the sacrifice of experience.
Experience, unfortunately, means nothing anymore. It is about money, money, money.
