Thread regarding State Street Corp. layoffs

My year free from state :) update

I’m thriving. Left state a year ago for a new job, I’ve received two large raises this year at the new company, and have gotten more respect and responsibility/say than I ever had over a decade at state Boston. State will forever be the most s-xist/abusive place I’ve had the displeasure of working at-that’s saying a lot as I had to work in fast food to support myself through college.

I pray for those still there, but I’m writing this to let you know there is better out there and you deserve way more than how they treat you- especially if you’re a woman or minority. Do not let them manipulate you to thinking their treatment of you is normal, ethical or fair- because it’s not.

I still have ptsd from working at state, I am working on it everyday.

Big rah rah rah, we thrive on working the most inefficient way possible, it doesn't matter if a more productive way exists.

Big rah rah rah meeting. Welcome back to office to be on a headset staring at a cubical wall while on the phone with china, india, poland. Oh yah they will provide some snacks after they drop the rah rah news. Guess what? No one wants it. No one wants to spend their time commuting hours to an office when they can and are more productive wfm.

What's funny is they KNOW we are being productive working remotely. If it wasn't, State Street leaders would not be hiring remote workers from overseas from the last couple of decades. They are coming up with fake news to get us to quit (quiet firing) and getting tax break incentives.

My advice is NEVER be loyal to the company and hone your skills in quiet quiting.

Some of us don’t want to go back to the office because nearly all of the rest of our teams are offshore. Why pay the commuting expenses if there is no one to see? Just to make a quota? It makes no sense. We’ve been working from home very effectively for the last several years. Unless there is a performance problem, I fail to see the benefit to going to the office to sit alone.

North American push back to office. North America has low rate of back to office. Wonder why? They continue to offshore jobs to other non American locations. That's a big incentive to go back!

Spent sometime the passing weekend to checking out jobs at dice etc. Looks the same title or position in other financial and none financial companies paid about 20% - 40% more than SST. Guess bonus in other financial firms should also be much higher.

@Post ID: @ksih+1nxb7SMb Yes a lot of companies outsource and use H1b workers.

But the difference is State Street has been doing outsourcing for the last 18 years,

1st they did layoffs ever 3years, then every 2 years, now it is a yearly event.

I don't know.... every company I know today is also outsourcing and using h1b to replace us, just like SST 10 years ago.

Congrats on your first year of freedom. I am almost 8 years free myself. It was a horrible place to work which you find out only after you leave. My condolences for those still at State. I wish you nothing but the best. You deserve better. May you find the strength to leave.
