Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

I hear that macys is getting new registers. Are NCR’s days numbered?

It might mean that NCR could get the boot but with the old peripherals still being used and the HP Tablets not being reliable they could be retained if the service contract is renewed. They should bring back in house MTech people in a smaller capacity as it worked well before. NCR covers several different retailers and bank ATM repairs so they’re management looks at productivity before loyalty to any one account

Same thing. Until the software (which has been adapted since Windows XP Embedded) gets changed out completely it will still be cr-p no wonder how many times they change the hardware.

The new tablet based systems are a huge improvement over the old PC systems. They are faster and so much easier to reach and use thanks to the touch screens. The only problem is that they are still running the same software as the old registers, which was never very good.
