There has been a vacuum of capable, experienced and knowledgeable engineers and leadership at Boeing for many years and it would take many years to remedy that now. And there are also many other companies that don't suffer from this malady now successfully competing with Boeing. So Boeing is now in permanent decline like many now defunct companies have experienced.

Thank goodness that the Boeing engineers of the 60's designed a 737 so awesome that the platform has been competitive for over 50 years. Asking for 60 is too much. Even the deepest of wells can go dry. #ThankYouDennisMuilenburg

It does not help when union members demand more pay at contract time cutting into whatever profit is left on the 737 max. Something has to give.

It can’t compete with the airbus 320. That airplane was designed in the late 80s when Boeing should’ve been redesigning the 737.

Just one bad CEO after another.
