Just a few more days until the axe drops on hourly employees with less than 2.5 years. I sincerely hope that the newer hires who will be losing their jobs in a couple days have updated their resumes. If you have less than 2.5 years and you haven’t listened to anything anyone has tried to tell you on this forum, then now is the time. Update your resume, and go ahead and start filling out applications and taking interviews because in a couple more days, you’re gonna be out on the street.
I sincerely hope for the best for all who will be affected by this coming round of layoffs. Don’t be discouraged, just dust yourself off and find a better opportunity elsewhere. Use this as an opportunity for growth and to better yourself.

Just because it didn’t get announced from the ivory tower doesn’t mean it’s not true. More times than not, most the rumors that came out of the plant was true or some variation of it, excluding the cr-p about Frank buying Catawba back. Lol. Time will tell about the rumored layoffs, could be they decided to delay until…. or just took them off the table.
I keep telling ppl not to believe the rumors because it's 99.9% bullsh-t. Unless you hear it directly from someone in corporate, it's just a rumor.

Take it from someone who has been here for over 20 years and been through more than one layoff - you won't know until the day they lay you off. Several years ago I went to a meeting where they assured us there weren't doing a layoff. Came in the next day and was laid off. In 2008 we went to meeting where they told us there wasn't going to be a layoff. 3 weeks later they announced a layoff. You just never know.
There are no layoffs at all at the Catawba Facility, in the meeting right now and it's confirmed ZERO layoffs
Who ever as the meeting today just let us know what happens no one knows my supervisor said no lay offs but second said yes no one knows. And 98 percent of the company from upstairs and down stairs are brand new . Lord people all these is rumors let’s find out today so everyone shut up and quit worrying about nonsense. And sit back and wait .

They’ll squeeze every last ounce out of you and hand you walking papers in return. If you weren’t here in 08-09, you don’t have a clue.

To the person who said their supervisor confirmed people were being let go, which location and department do you work in?
I was confirmed by my supervisor that a lot of people are going to be let go . Good luck everyone I wish you the best. I am part of the new hires so I assume I will be gone !!! Loved this place
Lies lies and more lies. They’re nothing but rumors. They are not laying off ppl that have been with the company for less than 2.5 years lol that is ridiculous…about 98% of the employees would be gone if that were the case.
If layoffs do happen I hope people will push management to explain how CommScope can avoid the WARN Act which was enacted supposedly to protect workers from exactly this happenstance.
Back in early May a post said that Commscope would be shut down for the week of July 4th followed by layoffs. According to the supervisors none of them knew about the July 4th week shut down and it was only announced 2 days before it happened. So the supervisors are kept as much in the dark as the rest of the floor employees as is the norm at Commscope, but management knew 2 months ago.
We will find out Tue and Friday what will happen.

Matter fact the supervisor salary is affected they took away their raise this year. So everyone is affected all we can do is wait and see.
So you believe what your supervisor is telling you? They don't know what is going on and most will tell you whatever they need to tell you to shut you up. As long as their salary isn't affected why do they care?
No one knows everyone is spreading rumors everyone at the plant is brand new if we was laying off by 2.5 years almost everyone be liad off. So that rumor false. And we’re having a meeting to explain the plant and what’s going to happen.
We all know this page any regular joe can post up any rumor with no facts
Confirmed from multiple B2 supervisors at the Catawba Plant, the only reason there is going to be a Town Hall meeting next week is because of floor workers being jerked around as far as what schedule they are working. Supervisors requested a town hall meeting so that the floor workers have a chance to ask the higher ups any questions or concerns they have. I'm not sure why yall wanna constantly put fear in people as far as layoffs go
