Thread regarding Adidas layoffs

Adidas has become a highly toxic place

I have no intention of staying here much longer and I know a lot of other people who feel the same way.

I worked there 10+ years ago, it has alway been toxic. Too many people "leading" the brand who only got there because of who's butt they kissed.

Nope - I‘m trying my damndest to call out the toxicity. I‘m here because the communication and transparency with SLT in my function (and even across most of the company) is pathetic. I‘m here because I learn things that don‘t always make it through the rumor mill.

If you’re reaching a point where you’re posting here, then I’m pretty sure that makes you part of the toxic problem.

Toxic, yes.

The shame of it all is that many employees don’t have so many easy chances to leave. For those of us with very specific industry experience, our skills are not so immediately transferable without an international move. Puma doesn’t have hundreds of job openings.

Intent to stay was pretty highly rated in ELS…I’m sure part of that is loyalty to the brand, belief that major change is around the corner, and whatnot. But it’s also linked to: fear of the open job market, and not wanting to uproot your life.

Let’s not forget that compared to typical German working environments, adidas is off the charts pleasant. But we do have to get rid of a lot of toxic leadership.
