Pat was able to get the BoD to fully support him. Kind of like Edward Smith the Titanic Captain, LOL.
Intel is this decades AMD before the fab spinoff. Lagging technology, lack of scale to successfully develop, ramp and harvest advance technology with investment and volume necessary to win. What do they do, ignore all the lessons, and instead go full speed on IDM and IFS and it will surely sink.
The timing to get tens of billions of dollars is actually the worst thing to happen. It gives an ignorant BoD, ELT, politicians and fooled employees all false hope with free money they can defy basic economics and competitive landscape.
I said it years ago Intel didn’t have scale nor business case to be successful once they ceded leadership after 14nm. It’s all there for everyone to see now, no amount of patriotic on-shoring funding can save Intel.
Monkey see monkey doo. this board is a stark reminder to improve myself or be lumped with the general lack of capabilites and competitive standing of intel. With some money how hard is it to be good at something?
"Therefore, it was somewhat disconcerting to hear Intel claim during their recent analyst update that IFS is "The world's second-largest foundry," a calculation that included their internal products. This is akin to taking your hot older sibling to prom. Technically it's true, but it doesn't convey the image they think it does."
Pat flapping his gums again.....what a complete and utter buffoon
Thanks captain obvious.
