The most self-serving article/post from a CEO I have read in a while -"landmark year"... so great we beat earnings by .22, but we are going to lay people off anyway! Maybe he should leave while he's at the top with his landmark year...
Partly distracts from mass layoffs, with plenty more to be announced later this month https://www.theregister.com/2023/07/03/pay_freeze_microsoft_landmark_year/
Good observations.
From the article:
Tech workers seem to be a group that hasn’t experienced tough times, low starting wages or much adversity. Basically spoiled by the luck of good timing as to when they began their careers. Some of us endured the 70’s when jobs were scarce, inflation was rampant and any work was welcome. I understand that it’s hard to adjust as good times fade and life gets harder, but I just can’t stand the consistent whining over every bump in the road.
