I don't think Paychex will do a layoff. I think what they are doing is making everyone within 45 minutes of a branch RTO, regardless if you were remote before the pandemic. I think they are banking on tenured folks and remote workers to resign so they can avoid mass layoffs. Also they have payroll specialists in India now. There is around 700+ employees in India. I believe they are wanting to move most of the workforce there, since labor is cheaper and RTO is one way to cut costs of tenured folks. My opinion though. I've been with them for 10 years.
