Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Reality beyond the inflated stock price ... rotten at the core

This company is not only riding the wave of the market but also hitching on the AI wagon where any mention of AI will get investments. The biggest booster is news of Oracle's success and projection of cloud revenue increasing. Investors think that this late entry will get some of that action and so pouring good money into it.

However, reality is that this is all smoke and mirrors. The product has too many moving parts that will go the ways of many failed attempts. ELT has gotten rid of the core group of people that could have helped but it is now at the point of no return. The ELT already started protecting revenue for this quarter with latest round of layoffs and this will be the continuing trend while they are riding all the waves. Reality cannot be changed. This place has severe organizational, technical, and ethical issues and rotten to the core. It will take a bit longer to not be a viable business but it will get there. Enjoy the ride.

What Is the Price-to-Earnings (P/E) Ratio?
The price-to-earnings ratio is the ratio for valuing a company that measures its current share price relative to its earnings per share (EPS). The price-to-earnings ratio is also sometimes known as the price multiple or the earnings multiple.

P/E ratios are used by investors and analysts to determine the relative value of a company's shares in an apples-to-apples comparison. It can also be used to compare a company against its own historical record or to compare aggregate markets against one another or over time.

P/E may be estimated on a trailing (backward-looking) or forward (projected) basis.

Sure Oracle has a database just like TeraDEI but Oracle has real cloud products and businesses in cloud and outside of cloud. This place does not and investors are often fooled into thinking one database company is like the next.
