Thread regarding Apache Corp. layoffs

They give a little but expect a lot

After I got a small raise, almost insignificant, the expectations from me increased a lot.
My work literally doubled immediately, and I'm probably not the only one?

Do they really think that it's ok to give minimum and raise the expectations to the maximum? I plan to leave.

In employment law, constructive dismissal, also called constructive discharge or constructive termination, occurs when an employee resigns as a result of the employer creating a hostile work environment. Since the resignation was not truly voluntary, it is, in effect, a termination. For example, when an employer places extraordinary and unreasonable work demands on an employee to obtain their resignation, this can constitute a constructive dismissal.

Just so you know HR no longer participates in market surveys for pay and benefits. Costs too much and JC, SR and MM see no value. So, BJ and they/them’s gang of merry mo--ns “pick” an increase value. If you think you aren’t competitive you are probably right. If you feel you are being used you are probably right.

That’s probably the point - they want you to leave, but it’s cheaper to have you quit on your own than to lay you off.
