Thread regarding VMware layoffs

TAM!

Do we know if the change to the TAM name is anything to do with Broadcom or Layoffs.
It was Technical account manager an industry role.
Now Technical adoption manager? Is this used by Broadcom?

You're talking about an organization where decisions are being made mostly by people who have never carried the bag, is still not bundling the service into the product sales like they should have years ago, and is still maintaining an application (TDM) that is mostly used for filling out a poorly designed web form. These are not the hallmarks of a leading edge business.

The TAM org has not had a proper GTM strategy or senior leadership in at least a decade, and this relabeling is just the latest regime's effort to look relevant.

Of course, annual recurring revenue and consumption driving are key these days. Big steps, home soon.
