Definitely not the only plant that's chaotic right now.

Very sad to see Hutchinson struggling in such state. It used to the largest mfg site powerhouse for 3M overall.

It has been chaos in Hutch since last fall. For production, there have been minimal answers from plant management, senior supervisors don't know what's happening, manufacturing supervisors don't know what is going on and the POC is silent. Anyone they can fire for any policy violation they are doing so in hopes of reducing overall headcount.

They laid off 87 people just to bring almost all of them back by the end of July.

The Hutch plant just let a bunch of salaried workers go at the beginning of the month...but by God we got new flag poles and are hoisting up the "pride" flag to virtue signal to everyone in town that 3M supports the current thing for the month of June.

I'd personally like to see the ENTIRE Hutchinson POC be replaced with people who have been with the company for at least 15 years and who have a master's degree in manufacturing or business....and not those who "deserve" to be in their spot because they used the steppingstones to earn their spot.

These are severely damaged times for the company as a whole. 3M is screwed with the ear plug lawsuits, the PFAS lawsuits in the U.S., Europe, and they are also fighting slowing sales volume.

The first person the board needs to fire is Mike Roman. Blackrock, State Street, and Vanguard don't like losing billions on their "investment" in 3M.

Become a manufacturing powerhouse again, or continue to care more about social norms and what people like to do in their personal lives.

Or maybe I'm wrong, maybe it's a push to destroy what was once a respected company who took care of those who built it up.

Mother M is dead, and she has been for well over a decade.
