Thread regarding Disney layoffs

There Will Be More Layoffs

“In fairness,” says Shawn Robbins, the chief analyst at Box Office Pro, “the shifting of consumer behavior is less on the Pixar team itself and more on the former Disney leadership that siphoned three of the animation hub’s films to streaming as part of a broader strategy.”

I don't know why CMac is gone, but clearly there is tension among leadership as to how to correct this ongoing disaster. Some people say it's Blackrock and ESG, some people are still blaming Chapek, some people are blaming the person sitting next to them. To some extent, I'm sure they're all correct. But one thing for certain is there is clearly a lot more pain to come for all of us.

The streaming wars ended not with a bang but with a whimper

universal is eating our lunch but youtube is the elephant in the room that the execs are too terrified to recognize as the most pressing threat
