Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Things you learn in TD marketing

Bootlicking is a prerequisite for being a VP and is more important than talent
JW places more value on her hairdresser than her marketing staff
ZR can’t run a meeting without stumbling and bumbling his way through with incoherent comments
AO says “I talked to JW about this” in meetings to get what she wants
Rank and file aren’t impressed with those who cozy up to JW by asking about her favorite sports teams. You know who you are
We’re supposed to market events with no messaging, agendas, or speakers
By the time content finally gets approved by VPs, the product name changes or is no longer available because it doesn’t work
Customer stories are things of the past because customers are not happy with us
We bash SF, but try to copy everything it does
“We’re building the airplane while learning how to fly it” is a tired cliché that needs to stop. It doesn’t make people sound clever
ELT hypocrisy is increasingly hard to stomach—something we share with other departments

Teradata wrote the book on flying. Then the bumpkins took over and it's been downhill ever since. Now they bring on people that couldn't even bother to learn about TD's heritage. Shameful.

It’s actually Directors and above are the bootlickers. But that’s not new. They could all be canned and nobody (nor the company financials) would notice. They are all milking the dying cow and have been for years.

The “We’re building the airplane while learning how to fly it” is insanity. Possible 2023 = a light version of the Universe events (last held in 2019).

A reasonable number of people are still around who were heavily involved in planning and executing Universe. Our customers know that event. Tickets were factored into many/most sales contracts.

Why are we reinventing this damn wheel again, just because JW + AO + ZR weren’t here for the Universe events? -_o

Rego's for possible Singapore are drastically low. We are talking a handful of customers who have registered. Marketing are bereft of ideas. More than likely it will be cancelled

The transaction was disclosed in a legal filing with the SEC.

Mr. Gianoni joined Teradata’s board in January 2015 and was appointed its independent Lead Director in January 2019

This ladies and gentelman is why the board isnt doing anything about ELT members. They're both working in concert to push up the stock price + give each other options.

Number of Sales means nothing anymore.
