Thread regarding Ascension Health layoffs

Shameful and tragic

A man walked into a Wichita hospital and ra--d three female patients there before being caught and arrested, police said Friday.

"Officers arrested a 28-year-old Wichita man around 2 a.m. Thursday, a Wichita police spokesperson, Officer Juan Rebolledo, said. The man was arrested at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis after being caught and fighting with security guards at the hospital, according to a report by The Wichita Eagle."

"The man was not an employee nor a patient at the hospital at the time of the as--ults and his arrest, Rebolledo said."

Doesn't surprise me. At the Ascension hospital I worked at, they would allow the homeless to wander in and roam at will. They had too many entrances unlocked at night. Only during COVID, did they lock most entrances down. So, they were capable of doing it, they just didn't care. Malls have better security

How does a convicted criminal (aggravated as--ult) sneak into a publicly-subsidized Ascension hospital in the largest city in the state of Kansas and then ra-e not just one, but THREE female patients?

From January...

“We’re perpetually short-staffed,” Wilson said. “Management needs to get serious about retaining nurses and recruiting new ones to replace the nurses they’ve driven away from this facility.”

Meanwhile...

"Those in the nurses union said they want better wages and better workplace safety and security."

Perhaps there's room for improvement?

One wonders if under-staffing was a contributing factor that allowed patients to be victimized.
