Dress Code

Is there no dress code for the Sales Managers anymore. I have seen managers dressed like ho----s. Bellies showing, skirts way too short and boots above the knee. Is that the professional look that Macys is allowing now. What happens when the colleagues start dressing the same? A write up or sent home? Shouldn’t we all have the same dress code?

Is wearing shorts part of the dress code? I wish we could wear shorts in our store in South Texas. The weather down here is brutal 🔥 it's between 107° - 114° degrees. At night time it's still is 100° degrees. In the morning the store air conditioning is turn on right before the store open. But still we are still having problems with the air conditioning sometimes it's working and sometimes it's not working. Nobody in our store is wearing fancy clothing especially with this hot weather 🥵 everyday we are in a excessive hot warning in our city.

The best credit producer in our store wears the skimpiest outfits. No complaints from the management here at our store.

This should be common sense, when you’re at work dress decently. Outside of work dress however. I understand casual but as a customer I don’t want to see employees wearing skimpy outfits unless it’s an establishment where it’s part of the experience like Hooters for example. Most Furniture Galleries I service as a vendor they are dressed professionally.

Dress codes are for losers. We rock out own style at our store and everyone wears pretty much what they want. Nobody expects people working for $15 an hour to be running around doing recovery, markdowns, and putting out merchandise to be wearing suits and ties or fancy dress.

Our store keeps cutting hours and we are all sweaty after the first hour in the building. It's summer time and hot, hot, hot in our store. Did you know that the company doesn't even turn on the air conditioning until right before the store opens? We only care about the customers being comfortable, so many of our team are wearing shorts, t-shirts, and maybe a polo for the high end areas.

If you don't like it, you probably aren't working hard enough.

Big ticket furniture gallery in my location has "relaxed" the dress code. There is a big difference between 'own your style' casual.... and sloppy, wrinkled, with dirty sneakers. Our furniture competition wears suits, (albeit no ties) blazers and shoes in good repair and are generally well-groomed. And their professionalism is reflected in their business standards.

Most of my store dresses fine. Anyone who is clearly out of code is told about it

When every aspect of a company starts to decline, starting from the top and going all the way to the bottom, it's time to get out. That means the company is in its final stages of life. Sad...... but true, and hopefully everyone working at Macy's knows this. Things are not going to get better, and complaining about them will not help. Things will just get worse, way way worse, and then the doors are closed for good, look at Sears, Lord and Taylor, Mervyn's, Rich's, Parasian, Montgomery Ward, Stein Mart, and back in the 80s and 90s high end stores like I. Magnin in California, same thing happened. Macys is no different.

Sale’s mangers only? Take a look at the entire store population including the store manager. There are zero standards for anything anymore at the one time shining star we all knew as Macy*s.

Most likely it’s a beauty, fine jewelry , women’s shoes, or rtw manager since skin sells
