Thread regarding Phillips 66 layoffs

3 months in - should I leave now or wait to get laid off?

This is my 3rd month with the company but morale is really low and everyone is either busy looking for other opportunities or will be leaving soon. I got an offer with another company with a bump in pay - but a bit hesitant to pack my family of 5 up and move to another state yet again. Everyone is talking about another round of layoff in July. Not sure what to do - should I leave now or wait to get laid off? Will I get laid off 3 months in?

Less than a year of service you get 2 weeks pay. Not sure if this is from when you get escorted out of the building.

Doubt there will be layoffs in July. More like oct/Nov if I had to guess but who knows.

I think you decision should come down to: do you see a success long term future for yourself at P66 or that other company?

Read the layoff and severance policy. If you get laid off within your first year you only get one week of severance (and maybe less than that).

Why would they hire someone just to lay them off 3 months later?
