Thread regarding Optum layoffs

I'm not looking forward to this week

All I can think about are layoffs. That's all I've been thinking about the entire weekend. I wasn't able to relax and enjoy the little time I get to have with my family (considering how much I work during the week). I'm not sure I can take much more of this. Hopefully, it will all be done in the next few days.

So if you get laid off , leave no stone unturned to support yourselves and your families. There is healthcare out there, unemployment. And these days everything is online. You don’t have to leave your homes to look for work. If you have been at Optum for a while you might not realize how toxic the work environment has become and how it might be a blessing that you got laid off. Hunker down, do anything you can to stay afloat until your next better opportunity. Make the most of each day. Stress is a huge negative impact on health. Don’t let this sink you.

Has anyone heard what departments are expected to be impacted this week?
And to the ones stating that people deserve to be rif’d because they are slackers and are impossible to work with, suppose you are impossible to work with because you are working 12-14 hours a day because you have poor time management skills. Just because someone isn’t working 60 hours a week doesn’t mean they aren’t doing their job. Having work/life balance doesn’t make you rif worthy, nor does being competent enough to do your job in a 40 hour a week time frame. Over achievers and su-k ups that try to make the average worker look like a slacker is what is actually impossible to work with.

Some in my area are slackers and deserve to be rif’d!! They were given 4s and 5s by bestie managers in the past and now it’s time to really work and they are not able to stand on their own 2 feet! Scary stuff!!!!!!

It was so good and so quiet for so long. As soon as the majority shareholders start getting twitchy, the board starts demanding change and leadership responds with layoffs, because why give up their multi-million dollar bonuses when they can cut a few hundred hard-working American Employees jobs, right? That house in the Hamptons isn't going to pay for itself.

I had a rough weekend too. One of my best friends was impacted by the layoffs last week, it was so hard to come to work today and not have her here.
It’s always the “worker bees” that get cut….never the top-heavy upper leadership. He-l they make up new positions for them every other day it seems!
There’s never any coverage in the news about this and I think there needs to be!

We all need the job and the healthcare! I was impacted but I do not feel worthless. Disappointed, angry, and sad. Worthless? Never. I worked my a** of for this org. I have mad skills, I and everyone impacted will land on our feet.

I need the job and the healthcare. If I get cut after all these years and money I earned them, it just tells me I am worthless and unemployable. A complete failure. I could not withstand the financial impact. Please stop RIF'ing us.

I am hoping it is me that is cut. I would be so happy to get out of this he-l hole and toxic environment. I wouldn't recommend anyone working for this company. Hopefully the layoffs will be with CSA.

You're not alone. Same here. I wish there was media coverage on these layoffs and what they're doing. It's horrible. What happened to them valuing their employees?i
It's sad.
