12 months of pay is a long way from early retirement. unless you're only planning to live for 12 months.

The last time they offered an early retirement package, where they pay you for 12 months after you take it but you can never come back, they had the "wrong" people accept it. There were entire departments wiped out, and they found that the most highly skilled workers took it since it was easy for them to find another job elsewhere. They admitted it didn't work the way they wanted it to. They were hoping only those folks close to retirement would volunteer for it but instead they lost a lot of highly talented workers, and in many cases from the wrong departments, and they were forced to rehire and train. A few years ago they said they'd never offer it again.

I stand corrected! The cvs retirement plan consists of you can keep your cvs discount card! how did i forget that?

You are wrong! CVS does in fact offer employees an excellent retirement care package:

You are allowed to keep your CVS discount card!

Being CVS doesn't offer a retirement program at all, seems like offering it early wouldn't really help anything

I would accept one if offered. Hopefully one more person would then be able to keep their job.
