Thread regarding CVS layoffs

burnout + anxiety from layoff

Just want to check to see if anyone is experiencing similar things as me.

  • burnout from work
  • anxiety from layoff cr-p

Maybe I should take a step and rest since I am not even guaranteed to have a job?

What is your thoughts?

When I mentioned I had anxiety about it and was worried to my team lead she told me I shouldn’t worry and it’s out of my control so don’t lose sleep over it. Basically said, too bad, get back to work. She’s a horrible person and I’m finding out she has poor people skills and complete disregard for others feelings. Guess she’s not able to Help with Heart and someone leadership doesn’t know how she really is.

This company does a massive layoff almost yearly. When this one is over there will be another. It's just how they do things. if the stress of yearly layoffs is too much, it would be best to start looking for a more stable job elsewhere. Just because you survive this layoff, does not mean you'll survive the next one, and there will be a next one. this is the third huge layoff in the last three years.

You, and close 300K individuals. We are all in the same situation. This excludes ELT and few who know everyone's fate. These people are probably sipping wine and enjoying the physical and mental they are subjecting us too. Probably laughing at us. We need to remain strong. Take one day at a time. We can all get jobs. May take some time but we will survive.

Perfectly normal and valid to be completely disengaged while the company is fumbling this layoff by trying to get interim productivity out of it.

One moment at a time. We're all feeling the same way. At this point we can't control what will hopping as far as this layoff. Maybe instead of worrying which is natural, start working on a resume and posting out to other companies just to be reassured something else is out there and you have options. This environment at CVS does not sound mentally or physically healthy on anyone. Try to remain strong and good luck
