Just wanna ask full time guys. According to you guys' experience in Q, will intern student still get return offer or totally cut all intern headcounts for intern in summer 23?

So out of 600+ US interns, only 10-15 will get return full time offers? Ouch. Sounds pretty abysmal. If so, good luck to the interns (and the recruiting team).

Having spoken to people in recruiting, there will be extremely few intern rollovers this year. On the order of 10-15.

Good luck with everything and you can definitely reach out to your team next year to see if they have headcount

I am intern turned full time and spend 15 years here and finally laid off.

My advice to all: Qualcomm is good at entry level. You will learn many things in 2 to 3 years. After that its auto pilot with little to learn.

Here are tips to be successful here:
Never argue your boss even if s/he is dump.
Be a part of politics. spend more time in politics than working on tech. you will find such people everywhere.
Start smoking if your boss smoke. Start drinking if your boss drinks.
Keep your soul at home and go to work.
Say Yes to your boss and no to everyone your boss say no.
you are working for your boss's promotion. forget you are a part of your company.
simple.

Unfortunately I can not do any of above so asked for RIF.
If you dont do all of above, better you leave sooner than later.

If I can go back in time, I will leave such environment after 2-3 years. So now its your call. Don't delay .

God bless you!!!

I was an intern and got the return offer. Accepting that offer was the worst mistake that I have ever made. Stay away especially if it is your first full time job after your graduation. Learning is critical for you to grow and Q cannot give you learning experience.

You are young and you can work in many other good companies, Q does not have a bright future with the current CEO. I would say as long as the current CEO and leadership is in place avoid Q. Q needs somebody like Lisa Su to save it.

Most of my colleagues who interned here and then became employees, 7 of them regret joining Qualcomm. I am ashamed of my own company. 10 years here you would end up seriously missing out !

Stay away from Q. I was an intern roll over. The first couple of years were great. Then I saw all the corruption and nepotism around me. I'm still at Qualcomm after many years and wished I had not joined and explored other options. The company has a toxic culture of nepotism, coverup of abuse/harrassments. They don't care about you , they take away your youth and sp-t you out.

I am the OP. Thanks all for your answers. I am doing the internship in Q this term. Even though I am not a full time employee, all my colleagues in the team are very friendly and willing to help. So no matter if I will get the return offer eventually, I hope you guys can survive and good luck.

There should be not any change on intern program. Maintaining good relations with universities and establishing credibility is very critical for an organization.

Totally different year than previous years in terms of full time offers for interns, so no clear answer can be given based on past practices. Budgets and headcount are under review and will vary depending on team. If there’s expected growth or attrition on a given team, there may be opportunities, but it’s a wait and see game at this point. Doubtful that there will be a situation where all interns are cut, but it’s more likely that a smaller percentage will end up with return offers.

thus far Q has never stopped intern rollover during prior layoffs so unlikely. Never say never though
