Rumor has it there were layoffs in CNSI NA a few weeks ago and now TCS is asking every manager to review what each of there employees are doing on an hourly basis. This is in preparation for a major layoff in NA as general consulting in IT is slowing down and recession fears are mounting .

could someone explain more about C&SI? Consulting practice? isn't TCS essentially all consultants?
TCS completely liquidated their entire consulting practice (C&SI) in the US, UK, and Europe. Most of the posts on this thread are factually correct. TCS cares most about its reputation and has worked hard to keep this layoff out of the news. They did not provide any notice period and are likely in violation of Federal and State WARN Act notice requirements. C&SI was largely made up of older white American Executives with deep connections across the Fortune 1000. This will not bode well for TCS' growth.
Can confirm as now former employee NA CNSI, CXT, entire global practice was dissolved impacting 100+ in a wholly unprofessional, abrupt manner with no responsiveness from HR on severance package terms & conditions, negotiation, legality. Many affected are seeking legal counsel and escalating; strength in masses.
The layoff number could easily exceed 800. The severance also has been random with no formula or logic. Some gets 4 week's severance and some 12 weeks after threatening to sue TCS.
TCS has also laid off many us citizens without retraining them for other opportunities while still applying/maintaining H1B visas 56000 or so. Also people who are over 55 years old were laid off and that can lead to age discrimination, breaching WARN act and possibly racial discrimination as well.
I can confirm. I worked in C&SI. I received an awfully constructed email from HR telling me I was put on RMG a couple of weeks ago. After speaking to the HR rep it was made clear that he was not going to help. He did not give an amount of time to be on RMG before being laid off. I was told to go find a billable job.
Well, that’s a bit difficult when no one responds. It’s as if working for C&SI makes one shunned. Today, I was on a work call when I received an email from some random person in HR letting me know I was terminated as of today. They didn’t even have the professional etiquette to call me.
The lack of professionalism from TCS is unbelievable. I have been working in the energy industry for 30 years and have never seen this kind of betrayal.
Trying to understand, what teams or clients come under CSI group?
If anyone on this posting has confirmed info that TCS laid off at least 500 people in CNSI with no notice then they are in direct violation of the Federal WARN Act. Does anyone have this info? Can anyone who was laid off please confirm you were laid off? If this group can collect this info then at least we can have the Feds take action against TCS.
I was laid off from TCS CNSI group after 4.5 years at TCS with an above average rating last year. I was first moved to RMG and then laid off in less than a week after the move to RMG. I had been "on the bench" leas than 2 weeks.
I just received separation info today and there is NO renumeration for being laid off - you only get accrued vacation pay and what ever back pay you are owed. I have NEVER been treated like this by any company I have work for...disgusting!!!

Can confirm. I was laid off last week, along with at least 12 others that I know of. Rumor is that it could be 500 (?). No severance offered yet. I worked there for 7 years, good performance reviews. Others??
Can confirm: I personally know at least a dozen in C&SI North America who have been let go over the last 3 business days.
Yes! 500 laid off in CSI including me. Disgusting on part of TCS.
