Thread regarding Synamedia layoffs

People keep disappearing

Every day someone else seems to disappear from the business.

It doesn't feel like anyone is safe.

People fearing for their jobs (and still annoyed about the FY22 bonus shambles).

Thanks to HR for organising sometime to lead doodling sessions though.

the process was ( is ? ) . An invite to an early day meeting but you don't see who else is attending. Turns out its your boss ( or their boss , if your boss is also for le chop ) and an HR operative. Le denouement is to a script . You only get the extra cash if you agree to sign an NDA and get the whole thing wrapped up in a week . This puts you on a hamster wheel of finding a lawyer , they pay for that , and getting the whole thing ratified done and dusted within the week. This is so that you may not question other avenues as you are b-m rushed through the door clutching your filthy lucre to your bleeding heart . Or alternatively ( as in the case of your narrator ) saying " thank feck for that , I got the cash before the whole sorry mess hits the fan / explodes / implodes / is deep sixed / or runs out of cash " ... pip pip

With rumours of some big-hitter resignations in the pipeline, I can’t help feeling that the complete implosion of the company is not far off. Will someone buy us for a dollar ?

I am one of the recently disappeared. At least they still give a severance and aren’t bankrupt yet. Being out feels like having a mountain lifted off your chest though.

I cannot believe how our CEO has strung us along for the best part of a year with promise of paying the bonus. I also attended some HR rubbish a few weeks ago where I recall the term trust being mentioned. Well trust is a two way thing you stinking pieces of sht! Utter utter fckers. Well I guess we are the su-kers :-(

"Annoyed" is an understatement.
Abject fury might be more accurate.

As for 1970s South America, more like 2020s Russia?

You make it sound like a 1970s South American dictatorship!
