Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Karen

Lead with heart Karen, how you presented this is cruel in an already stressful world. You expect us to carry on as normal as you sit in your 4 mansions.

CRUEL

Shows that executive leadership has NO EMPATHY for employees. All talks about Heart at Work behaviors is BS. It is perfectly fine for an organization to downsize as they see fit. In doing so, subjecting close to 300,000 employees to extreme stress is sadistic. Morale is low, productivity is down. Our supervisors are also in the same situation as we are. They really don’t care to push for work to be done when there is such an uncertainty about their future.

Yeah let's panic 295k people unnecessarily...It's sad 5k people will be laid off -- but to unnecessarily stress everyone else out is just ridiculous. Poor leadership. I think they did this to make everyone fearful so they won't put up a fight when asked to return to the office.

I've been with the company for 20 years. If it's me, just give me the 25k of severance and I'll have a better job within a month...😆 🤣 😂

She gave you a warning so you can go on LOA before the layoff.

Sadly Karen is nothing but a Wall Street businesswoman. She has no heart. OP is right this is cruel. Especially in the light of CVS pretending to be the company that leads with heart. And yes I believe that Larry wanted someone who was going to carry things on just the way he did.

Every job I’ve had in the last 20 years ends in this. It doesn’t matter where you work.

Working for CVS has never been good for your mental health.

Doing it this way is not good for mental health! All this coming from a company who says they care about our wellness.

Right? Indulge me and let me be dramatic for a minute. We’re a healthcare org fully aware of health trends and the mental health crisis that was ramping up even before the COVID pandemic. Living in uncertainty, being socially isolated and overall ongoing stress at an all-time high was HARD. I’ve barely returned to normal after being in survival mode due to my family circumstances throughout this time.

Just now feeling okay, after decompressing several months, and leadership decides to announce layoffs weeks in advance with a pretty agonizing wait. 300,000 people all freaking out wondering what life is going to look like in a week. Pretty disappointing. The best part is that I was really starting to feel engaged as an employee. Moral is going to be cr-p.

That’s why Larry picked her.
