So based on what I'm reading the big layoffs are Monday August 14th and Tuesday August 15th?

Why would managers be out the week before the layoffs?
To the person saying they that you'll be told Monday that your last day was actually the previous Friday and you will not be paid for Monday... that's completely false.
If they ask you to show up for work, then they have to pay you for the hours you are at work. I suppose it might be calculated differently if you are salary.
The severance will not be a one lump payment, but it will be spread out biweekly just like your paycheck.
Is that the day CVS employees get refills on their anti depressants and Xanax prescriptions?
CVS will keep u on to train someone else on your job then we hire under a new title. You won't get severance until you work until their end date unless you don't take the severance and leave when they will notify you.
Not sure about strike. Think CVS in store and corporate employees are just planning not going to work for however long due to this layoff so business is negatively impacted
Again, the day they tell you you are being laid off, isn't usually your last day. your last day may be weeks or months after that notification date. It's never been the day you get notice though. Also there is no strike. there is no union to strike
Not payroll, but I wouldn't think so, especially if the layoff notification wasn't effective immediately. Keep in mind they have to pay you for all the time you work, including your last day.
Hypothetically if layoffs are the 14th/15th, do you think payroll will already have that info and it might show up in myHR earlier than Monday or Tuesday? Holy sh-t can’t believe we have to wait another week and possibly get through another weekend without knowing our fate. I’ve been trying to avoid thinking about it this weekend, but my partner observed I’ve been doing these high deep breath sighs every 5 minutes. It’s like I can’t catch my breath. Thanks, Karen.
I read something in previous posts re: striking due to layoffs
This is the first time I’m hearing about a strike
In a previous post someone said something along the lines of corporate and in face employees going on strike? Is the strike planned for the 14 & 15?
Do they usually take that amount of time off this time of year?
Dude, you should go look for another job or you are going to be homeless.
Y’all look ignorant crying over a job.
That happened at one of my jobs. I worked 1st shift. Another company purchased us and shut us down. They called everyone down to the cafeteria, which was pretty big. We walked in and there stood security guards, wall to wall. We instantly knew what was happening. I signed up to stay till the end but I won’t do that again. I’ll leave right away
My skip-level manager is out until the 14th, which is kind of weird because now until mid-September is the busiest time of year for us. I'm nervous because I think my direct manager would likely be the first cut on my team and as of yesterday he hadn't heard anything.
That's so sad to think 5,000 people will be let go in a day. We all have to have this lingering over our heads this next week
It’s August 14th and August 15th. They asked the security vendor for extra security guards on those days.
28 yr employee here. I suspect you are correct on 8/14 and 15. all the prior layoffs at my office were always Thursday or Friday, I think Friday is actually the laid off employees last day and they will be told on Monday but not paid for Monday. I suspect the severance won't be paid on 8/11 because it'd be a dead giveaway that you were laid off.good luck everyone.
There were a couple of posts about management being OOO until then and it seems like people jumped on that to reach conclusions. Nothing on timing has been confirmed.
I don’t think anyone really knows
