There is a lot of confusion about this so lets clarify it once and for all. Here are the facts that I understand, please clarify if something here is NOT true.
- Broadcom has to follow VMware severance policies for 12 months after the merger per the merger agreement.
- VMware severance policy as it stands now is to provide:
- 2 months of notice where you will be on payroll and at the end of that period 2 months of severance as a base plus 1 week/year of continuous service subject to a maximum.
OR
- If you are NOT provided a notice period and laid off with immediate effect then 4 months of severance plus 1 week/year of continuous service subject to a maximum
There is also a provision to provide 3 months of COBRA premiums.
