You've stalked the 8/3 thread and now you plan to worry over the 8/11 post. Is it healthy for us to obsess over every rumor of layoffs? I get it, continued employment and stability is a major concern, and it's disturbing to hear about our colleagues across the company being tossed in the discard pile. At some point you just have to accept that our employment is not safe, not for sure, and subject to the whims of leadership every Thursday of the year. ...or try to seek more stable employment. You may be happier leaning into one of those two options.

I agree. This thread talk of layoffs rumors for years. And even before this thread ever existed. Most dates have occurred for layoff. But sometimes someone post. random date for layoffs that will happen and it ends up being untrue. Layoffs happens in all industries. Especially for a large organization. It has never stopped them for years. We just have to be prepared for it. And deal with the challenges. And yes, def need to log off and not give in to reading posts. If it happens then it’ll happen.
I've been following this site too much recently and it has had a negative impact on my mental health. I am recognizing that part of me wants this external event to happen and change my life. I need to take action, I am not happy here and I understand that it is time for a change. I hope everyone finds what they are looking for and may you have better days ahead. Log off, look away, nothing good will come from hitting refresh over and over, I am going to do the same.
No employment is safe, my friend. Most everyone is subject to the whims of their leadership. If you are checking this site an unhealthy amount, I suggest logging off and enjoying your weekend
