I wonder if it’s their goal to end remote for everyone like before Covid. If that’s the case then I’m out. I don’t live near an office

When was the email sent about hybrid work ? My department was never officially notified about hybrid work, we only heard rumors. I am in under Aetna Medicare.
Remote is ending so they can get rid of people without having to pay severance.
Being remote has saved them in real estate as they've shut down a lot of offices across the country
We were told that anyone hired remote will continue to be remote
I have been remote since 2014, long before Covid.
I don't think so. I think CVS has realized that it costs less to have people work remote than it does to pay for office space, building insurance and upkeep, cleaning people, and electricity than it does to just let people work from home.
I was hired remote because I’m not near an office. They hired many people to work remotely. I know they would probably rather keep people near the offices. I was just wondering if they had plans to go back to pre-Covid
- I was hired as in office.
- Office closed during Covid.
- Went fully remote WFH job code/location in HR during COVID.
- Department has since gone fully WFH in job code/location as latest as last month.
- Hopefully, I am exempt.
They sold our office space over a year ago so even though we got an email telling us we would need to go back a few days a week, there is no office space to go back to!
Not eliminate remote workers altogether but common sense will tell you that leaders will prioritize laying off remote workers first. They will want to minimize the impact on the communities where major offices are located.
You need to be real with yourself and realize that in-office workers are safer, at the moment.
Doubt it, when they sent the hybrid email last month they said only employees who were hired as in office workers will need to go back to the office. And even then, they are letting them work from home 2 days a week.
Were you remote before Covid?
