Offer us decent severance, nothing extravagant, and plenty of us will be happy to walk away. This would help save the jobs of those who want to stay and make sure those who don't get to leave. Imagine what a boost that would be for morale, as opposed to the major hit morale is taking right now...

There will be a large number laid off outside the US. Of the 15% of workforce, only 10-15% of that will come from US. Look for Sr. Directors and VPs to retire.
Smaller offices will be closed in US and overseas.
Why do we need so many people in marketing on qualcomm
h1's should volunteer
The company offered voluntary early retirement packages in March-April of this year. Most of the folks who received the offer had been with the company for 10+ years and were at a Senior Director and above level positions. Many folks chose to take the package although it's unclear how many since their departure also coincided with the RIF that took place in mid-May. In certain groups like Marketing everyone was offered a voluntary package and many employees took it. As a matter of fact, too many people took it and they tried to bring some of these folks back.
I didnt know Q had a union. Whats next, volunteer for an early pension at 30?
Company is already loosing money, no need for free handouts.
Just ask if you can go remote... That is the ticket out with a severance package...
Just WFH with various causes! Then you are on the list, not even need to ask
They asked for volunteers during the 2015/2016 layoffs, at least in QCA. It's hard to say whether that was a good idea or not, but they did it...
This is how a company doesn't operate. The outgoing candidate can go out anytime and they don't need sev. package. A company needs to maintain the appropriate resource mix to outperform.
