That’s key don’t rely on Aramco. Or listen to a short sighted US perspective.

This is from a US perspective where empoyee rights are very poor.

In most EU countries an employer must have employer liability insurance policies that cover long-term issues for the duration.

Goes without saying that in KSA you take your choice! Take out your own insurance policy to cover such eventualities - DO NOT RELY ON ARAMCO.

All Fortune 500 corporations follow a similar practice Globally. You hire on knowing what your short term and long term disability options are, or perhaps are not. You either accept them, or you insure further to supplement it if not happy. Then, you take your chances, such is life. No Fortune 500 corporation will keep a person on payroll who cannot fulfill their job duties for which they were hired. I believe this is fairly common knowledge and nothing new.

Comes with the territory. It’s all BS anyway, policy means very little anyway when the chips are down. It’s just for the locals to save face and wave around at conferences etc to make themselves appear superior.

Those manuals have a large invisible section at the end that applies to expats, which states you have zero recourse and zero rights.

In reality they can and do use A80 or A77 of the Saudi labour “law”, and will bin an employee as they see fit. They will fabricate evidence and make up anything they like against you. They’ll happily use force or threats, E.g you must sign this piece of paper, keep quiet or we’ll cancel your iqama immediately.

Look at the stories in the FT and WSJ on actual cases. It’s appalling. Read around how those in the Radium fire were treated.
Life here is cheap and Aramco doesn’t give a fcuk about you or your welfare.
