I wonder if it is just a coincidence or they know that everything will be communicated by 08/14. Weird that they are coming back to work midweek. Probably reading too much into it but perhaps they are chickening out of difficult conversations by being OOO?

Does CVS pay out unused PTO when laying someone off?
Could be that they were already informed of being laid off and they’re using up their PTO.
I’m seeing a lot of this in my area as well (DDAT) but thinking it may just be summer vacations.
