This past week Evergreen Health Care in Washington State emailed all employees that they are in a financial crisis and laid off many off employees. They also asked employees to volunteer to resign.

Good to see the CFO got whacked but the rest of the upper management team needs to tender their resignations for allowing a $108M loss in 2022 (after being in the black in 2021). This group has been too busy "empire building" without due consideration of the consequences (oh, and supporting one particular family's excessive grip on the operations). Good to see the CEO put a hold on any more building, now the system needs to dump the Monroe relationship and focus on responsible support of the tax district's residents' needs. Bad decisions (EPIC, earthquake-proofing, etc.) beget bad results. Oh, and spooking off Regence clients is also not in anyone's best interest.
