Toxic Lead Cables

Everyone can search ATT and Verizon are in trouble with this issue. EPA and other agencies are working to find out somebody should responsible for this. Estimate is about $60B or corruptions to fix. My guess, ATT and Verizon are going to become cureless and point fingers to the suppliers. Anyone know CS sold this lead cables, probably included in fiber cables?

Lead is not typically present in fiber cables. Fiber cables are designed for transmitting data using light signals, and they consist of a core made of glass or plastic fibers surrounded by a cladding layer that helps contain the light within the core. Lead is not transparent to visible light. It is a dense and opaque metal, which means that it does not allow light to pass through it. When light encounters lead, it is absorbed or scattered, making lead appear solid and impenetrable to light. Lead is not used in the construction of optical fiber cables because it does not have the desired optical properties for transmitting light signals.

Who ever copy and paste the cr-p from the website is a dope. No $h!t they are compliant now. Search and read d&mnit, these are “ancient” cables, many prior to the dangers known about lead. This is stupid.

More internet / wireless providers are adding on the list finding the toxic cables, the list could be grown bigger and bigger. Those cables are old legacy, probably before rohs, we all know lead is not good, but cables suppliers sold these cables to the providers.

No, our products are RoHS compliant, and therefore, lead-free. They are also REACH compliant, California Proposition 65 Compliant, and Phthalates free. CommScope is very serious regarding the presence of dangerous substances in our products.
