I saw they said it will be eliminating a number of non customer facing employees. I wonder if they mean remote or positions that don’t deal with customers period.

Non customer facing means they are corporate-type positions people in support-type departments that don’t work directly with customers in stores or on the phone.
They will 100% prioritize eliminating from the the vast pool of remote workers hired in recent years. RI is not a huge a corporate market that they can just pluck from when/if things turn around. Need to keep as many productive office workers employed as possible in that market and maintain goodwill with the community. I’m not as familiar with the Hartford market.
I read a news article that said stores, pharmacies, clinics, or customer services centers will not be impacted
No it's not remote employees it means the CVS in store employees will not be effected. They are the ones that are safe for this round
Why does whoever keep saying it's only 87 jobs, or only 90 jobs? We aren't speculating - the email from Karen said approximately 5000 jobs are being eliminated. Stop being annoying - not helpful in a time of stress.
It’s not that many people being affected
Asset protection and less than 90
Chill
Wonder if Provider Data Services will be hit? We usually are. Most of us are remote and we have no direct contact with customers although we work along side many other teams who do have direct contact with customers. Can't wait to overthink it for the "coming weeks"... Most Americans are stressed out anyway financially so let's add to that by making us all worry if we're it by sending out a blanket email to the whole company.
Employee moral will be at it's worst. Between the rumors of getting rid of the 5,000 employees. Unknowing how hard all of the lowest people paid work. I work from home and I work so hard for this company and I have been for so many years. I support so many people who make a lot more than me. Please don't do this to us Karen. There are so many lives depending on your decision.
I'm not sure, but customer service reps are still considered customer facing by definition. You still work directly with customers, so I'm hoping that means it does not matter about being remote or not for phone reps
