We constantly have problems due to our non-technical management. It is impossible to communicate with those people.
They just don't understand.
How often do you encounter problems precisely because of this?
It's a constant source of frustration for me and I'm sure it's one of the reasons why the remaining talented people intend to leave this place.
All one needs to know is there are senior engineering directors making close to a quarter of a mil just for taking meeting notes, sending meeting invitations, and maintaining equipment inventory spreadsheets for their directors or VPs. They were kept while lower paid engineers actively working on customer crisis and complex tecnical projects were RIFfed.
Just ask around. People can just look at the org chart and know who they are.
Current engineering ELT and all engineering directors up are insecure, politically vengeful to preserve status quo.
Every good technical or managers that speak up & willing to make a difference are gone, either voluntarily or from vengeful ELT & incompetent purges because they can't stand to get exposed for the incomptents that they are.
Old timers, technical or directors and above, are followers & political survivors that have turned on their peers and fallen in line to cash in. They are yes people now, ineffective, and counting their days.
There is no trust or respect at this place because it is rotten at the core.
One can learn so much more elsewhere with honor, self respect, and integrity.
