Ever since CVS took over Aetna it has been down hill. They cut out bonuses, they took away holidays, and our raises are an absolute joke. Now 5k people are going to be without jobs during these already hard economic times. Typical greedy corporation. How about they cut the big wigs bonuses and save people’s jobs! FCA!
They've just effectively destroyed everyone's peace of mind until they finish them off. Everyone is a target.
We are all screwed and Karen and her cronies are fine with the million dollar compensations. They are never touched or have to face the consequences of their bad decisions just the workers of the organization.
They stand there on stage flashing their jewelry and how wealthy they are while all the workers are stepped on.
Can Karen show off her Diamond ring anymore on those town halls ?
Overall , all employees will be negatively impacted
Anyone have any inkling as to what departments will be impacted? We just hired someone new, so not sure why they would hire someone if they were intending on laying off anyone in my department, but who knows.
what is the point in working at a fortune 6 company if they are going to have mass layoffs? there is no security in bad investments.
Haven’t felt secure since the last big layoff In June. And management doesn’t communicate and acts like they don’t know anything.
Our dept got the letter but not sure who
will be layed off
The rollout of epic has eliminated a lot of job responsibilities on my side. I’m expecting to be affected by this.
They hired a ton of new DLs in the last year as they divided up DLs between pharmacy and front store. Wouldn't be surprised by cuts there.
We all got one in PIAB Medicaid. The literally just hired and flew out of country lol to the states to do our job
I was in the layoffs this time last year and if the severance package is the same as it was last year it would be your pay and depending on how long you were with the company, so I was there 6 years, so I ended up getting 13 weeks. but we didn't get our severance email until the day before our last day in the office before the weekend.
Anyone know what the severance package might look like?
There was a round of cuts in marketing a few weeks ago-they let seasoned Aetna employees go--seemingly no rhyme or reason...
Sinking ship
Hey...everyone be sure to send Karen a Heart At Work recognition for making our day fantastic.
Says “ This means eliminating redundancies, deploying technology to drive process efficiencies and excellence, stopping select business initiatives that do not align with our strategy at this time, reducing travel and other discretionary expenses, and minimizing the use of consultants and vendors”
For those who haven’t received Karen’s email: they’re sending it batches to avoid cracking outlook
I just received an email, and my colleague too.
what a lousy Monday email, cuts start tomorrow. I just dont even know what to say wish we had some idea of departments or something, its like it could be anybody!
The email says it’s across the company, not just corporate. This is really devastating and I pray for any of us who may be impacted. Everyone is slowly getting the email from Karen now, my co worker got hers 50 minutes after I received mine.
Correct, typically Outlook only sends to ~5,000 people at a time (it may be more now). I know this because I used to send communications at another company and we had to stagger how they were sent based on server capacity. For 25,000 people, I believe we had to send 5-6 emails or it would bounce back.
aetna one just came in - - i think its by domain - - hopefully the recent oak street and signify employees are included in this mix too.
You shouldn’t read into receiving the email as a sign. Corporate emails like this are usually delayed when they get sent out.
5k is massive if layoffs are just going to be in corporate. There aren't clear numbers for corporate employees out there.
For example, the engineering and coding division of cvs has only 2500 people.
5k isn't exactly massive with 225K+ employees. ~2.2%. Still, su-ks though.
My sister just got hers.
Didn't get any such email yet. To those who received it--Are you in corporate?
Also, 5k is massive. How many corporate employees does CVS even have?
I think the emails are just taking a few minutes to hit everyone. I had mine about 20 min ago and my coworker just got hers.
At this point it feels like no job at CVS is safe anymore.
Some of my coworkers didn't get email but I did. Not sure if that means I'm going or they're going to be let go.
