Just gave my notice to my manager!!! Felt so good. Can’t wait to get out of this toxic place after 9 years being overworked and under appreciated and about about 3 dozen or more different managers over the years. Just after yesterday when I saw more than half my team (and many other high performers) in TA get laid off!!! Asked my manager if she could replace me with one of my laid off colleagues and she just said “unfortunately it doesn’t work that way”. How does it work then!!! She dared asked me if there “was anything they could do to keep me”. I even took a pay cut to get the h*ll out of here. I’ve watched as so many of my colleagues/friends work hard and do a good job get laid off and/or screwed while low performers hang on (or get promoted to leadership LOL) and that includes my worthless manager who never should be a manager in the first place which is the case for 75% of managers in Optum TA. Good riddance & God Speed. Good luck everyone!!!

ID: @1nnn+1nPOSWe5: pretty sure TA = Talent Acquisition. The alphabet soup is painful to decode at times….
What is TA?
With the flat FTE growth and growing the roles vs. adding headcount there just wasn't going to be the work level for TA with the existing staffing...it was pretty predictable for a long time there would be some downsizing, even with the large amount of contract recruiters...hopefully people impacted in TA prepared for this very obvious action that a lot of us saw coming months ago. In fact in late 2022 a bunch of us were wondering how long the huge TA teams were going to stay that way.
If you have experience working with Operations and handling org design, performance improvement/management, and leader coaching type work there are positions on the People Team that are open for internal mobility if you're looking to redeploy. The TA team that supports us had aout 20% of their team get impacted the other day...sad for them.
TA is so big and not sure what criteria was but in our division recruiter wise it was performance but Mgr 1000%% unsure what is happening and don't feel this is the end for my group.
What lane did you recruit in? I’ve also been planning to give notice.
