Thread regarding Optum layoffs

I wouldn't be better off laid off

I know it's not popular to say, but I need my job and I still enjoy what I do. I see all these people who keep saying they want to be laid off and I can't figure out if they're just posturing, trolling, or being serious. I don't know of a single person who came out of layoff and said "Well, that was a great experience I'd like to have more of."

You must like working in a toxic and abusive environment. I would rather be laid off than deal with this everyday.

Remember Affirmative Action and DEI is really common at this job. Depending on a few factors some people probably are better off staying and continuing on your easy street journey at the expense of the patients. Bad work ethic, double standards, and racial overtones are really excessive at this company. Depending on which category you fall into, you are probably good..

“Site like this attracts the cranky”-who is the one coming to this site? When you are pointing the finger at others you have your thumb pointing right back at you!?

Reading some comments accusing trolls , etc why come into this forum? Are you leopard under cloak? Aka HR and/or so called leadership lol.. if not, go back and sit down waiting for your name to be called for the next round of RIF…

I love my job. I don't want to be laid off. But sites like this tend to attract the cranky.

So weird twist here, I don’t want to be laid off myself but I know that if I continue employment here. The exploitation and abuse will continue regardless if I report to HR Direct or not. Applied to well over 150 jobs internally/externally and still nothing really works out. So until the notice comes out………I will continue to do the absolute bare minimum here and pray I get a new job elsewhere.

I'm with you, I agree. Yes we disagree with the company but the job market is insane. I've also been applying for jobs just to keep an eye out for months and haven't heard back from a vast majority of them. Finding a new job (without having one currently) sounds liek a nightmare

Same.. I nee “a” job and I’ve applied for probably 100 or so this year with maybe 10 interviews. The job market is extremely tough right now and being forced into does not sound very fun to me

Same. I like what I do and like my boss. I dread looking for a new job if I get laid off. I’m also super busy, so it would be really weird. But I know I’m not safe. And neither is my boss….

Probably just trolls that are unhappy no matter where they are and what they do.

Same here. I need my job, I like it for the most part, and finding a new one is stressful.
