That will result in the closure of its “Vision Centers” inside Walmart stores starting next year.
The company notes that this decision was unexpected, but that it will continue to focus on benefiting shareholders
National Vision operates the chain of “Vision Centers” found in Walmart locations across the country. However, that’s going to change starting on Feb. 23, 2024. This is when Walmart’s contract with National Vision ends and the retailer isn’t renewing it.

lol. You were saying?
Each laid off associate will be given a coupon for a free pair of glasses when you pay for that same pair.
Tick tock, Mr. Know it all. 🤣🤣🤣
You were wrong.
Lol. Yea. We will. Douchenozzle.
previous poster, I like to think you have done your homework but you have no credibility. Feb 23, 2024 we will see. CVS is laying off 5000 in their corporate. Good by my friend. Your one of the ba--s doug is juggling in the air.
Straight from the national vision website. Under the “Brands” menu:
“Vision Center Brought to you by Walmart
National Vision manages more than 200 Vision Centers brought to you by Walmart across the country, each located conveniently inside the nation’s largest retailer, Walmart. Eye exams are available by Optometrists practicing inside or adjacent to the Vision Center.”
STRAIGHT from Walmart:
The real difference, of course, is what our customers experience — and are able to purchase — in 3,000 Vision Centers at Walmart stores and Sam’s Clubs. Along with Walmart-produced lenses, Vision Centers sell premium lenses like those from Nikon, Seiko, and Zeiss.
It’s not a hard concept. You just refuse to let go of your bitter cynicism for just five seconds to realize YOU ARE WRONG.
What are you talking about?
Seriously. Spell it out.
Because it’s CLEAR that you do not understand the differentiation between NATIONAL VISION and Corporate owned and operated vision centers.
previous poster, Just words from somewhere. Feb 23 is the beginning of facts. They pay no rent! What for 30 years? Thats as bad as paying you to answer.
You literally have no idea what you’re talking about.
National vision PAYS RENT TO WALMART. Thats it.
Why is that so hard for you to understand?
previous poster, Doug said he wants the vinders to decrease their prices. The ceo of National Vision is still following Sam's winning policy of low prices. So after 30 years they're gone just like that. Kind of a contradiction. Walmart-doug spin.
…….again.
NATIONAL VISION leases space in approximately 250 Walmarts, under the “Walmart vision center” brand.
WALMART owns and operates approximately 2300 vision centers.
WALMART has told NATIONAL VISION, the parent company of americas best, that they will not renew the lease in those approx 250 locations.
WALMART and NATIONAL VISION are two different companies.
Why is this so hard to understand?

Previous poster, no idea how many associates you encouraged over the cliff. There is no focusing on the issues only distractions and spins. 2025 will be a good year for you. Go back to your scrabble game. Insiders in walmart shorted their own stock. Wonder how many associates will lose out on that one.
Lol there’s nothing to debate. You can’t even spell correctly.
You’ve destroyed the forum because all you do is constantly prognosticate with opinionated negativity.
We know it’s you posting because you have the same spelling and grammar errors every single time.
Regarding this vision post for example…..you’re acting like this bodes poorly for Walmart vision associates. It does not, in any way shape or form. It bodes poorly for some of the national vision associates who work in the leased locations if Walmart decides to close their particular location, but nothing that happens with the ending of the leasing contract will negatively affect any Walmart employees.
You are so bitter against “St Doug” as you call him, that you just assume everything Walmart related in the news is bad for Walmart staff…..that’s why you look like a fool with your vision post here.
You’re a very very sad person.
Previous poster, You are beyond hope with your deductions. Who are a perfect example of narrow vision. If by presenting articles and facts which obviously is not within your capabilities I destroyed this forum , that is the best spin you can come up with? is this your post? Why are people running from home office jobs?
HO must be like twitter before Musk did the job a certain ceo should be doing. Bring back allegator boots another impressive buddy. You do not have the capacity to correct me or anyone else on this forum. Debate me with facts dont think your all it and just cry.
It is VERY CLEAR that you are a former HO employee that was let go recently, at some point over the last 6 months or so. You have single handedly destroyed this forum.
With the weird obsessive behavior you exhibit on this forum, posting multiple times per week, it’s no wonder you were let go.
You deserved it.
Get professional help, and move on.
I mean FFS…..you can’t even spell VENDOR correctly and the rest of your sentence structure is atrocious. LMAO.
Again, you have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about.
The company just increased start rates for entry level vision center employees to as high as $26/hour. Licensed opticians start rates were increased to as high as $33/hour depending on region.
Get a clue.
Just an absolute troll.
Feb 23 can not be stopped from happening. The CEO of national Vision said they want to keep costs low. Funny Greater Value wanted vender to lower costs and thats what they want to keep doing keeping optical costs low. They have had a contract with walmart for 30 years and walmart doesnt have an obligation to explain why they are cut-ing their thro-ts. You think walmart is going to grow their own? HAHAHAHA Now I know you cant be serious.
You have NO idea what you’re talking about. National Vision owns Americas Best. They lease about 250 Vision Center spaces under the Walmart brand inside of Walmart. Walmart corporate owns and operates roughly another 2,300 Vision Centers.
This is Walmart kicking National Vision out. That’s it.
Grow up. Seriously.
Walmart is the one ending the contract. No Walmart associates will be laid off. This is a tremendous opportunity for Walmart to grow its own Optical business
Doug will be the historic king of layoffs.
Sure why not end the contract. Don't tell them why after 30 years involved with them. The new walmart under the superb leadership of Greater Value. Layoffs, not a concern. Can't wait to read the spin on this.
