It is clear to everyone that cheaper labor cannot solve all the issues here, but it seems that all the leadership is interested in is precisely cheaper labor. I'm not trying belittle anyone, but I'm afraid that very soon it will become clear that they are making irreparable mistakes by replacing capable, experienced people with cheaper alternatives... Just my 2 cents.

The more i read the more it makes sense why our systems are so wacked out. Solutions being done in silo often duplicated, or not fully vetted for all the areas that may be effected.
The hard part is it doesn't really matter where you go in the big boy cooperate world all the companies will do the same, which is why i'm starting the research and resource gathering for starting my own business'.
I was part of the layoffs today. The reductions in force are going to continue. When it was announced as a positive (win-win) a few months ago that plan increases were not being passed along to the consumer that was a clear indication of staffing cuts. I was told by someone in the org who is in a very senior position that today’s latest round doesn’t even come close to where the company needs to be. For those of you who remain, update your resume and either get out before you’re let go or wait for your severance package.
Agree so many of you. Fake culture company. I think the person posting "CMS final notice on the ICD10" as reason for this layoff is company planted insider - seems like at least a spoks person.
The sh---y thing is about this company is that they will hire more people in a few months just to do the same. This is a perpetual nightmare at Optum. They want to preach integrity when they have NONE. My thoughts are with everyone who was affected.
Agree. when you dig into code and details very poor quality and bad practices buy cheap work force. One is promoted with less experience, compared to how onshore employees are treated. Tech leads with fake experience are putting out crapy solutions.
Agree. I am told your work is great but layoff anyway. Over 10 years with uhg.
