The 1st version of the town hall had a visible comment section updating live.
Employees took the opportunity to post very negative comments and questions that David or Kartick were seemingly not prepared to answer or even acknowledge. It was a very uncomfortable thing to watch. The replay later that evening was edited and the promised recording has not been posted. A major black eye for Nielsen.

If there are people with enough time to get involved in your work then they don’t have enough to do and should be the first to leave. Micro-managing leaders need to allow people to work instead of constantly asking for changes.

Nielsen is counting on the remaining staff to not allow the company to fail. That is why they are saying that is you can’t handle then you need to leave.

Here is the New York about our dark lord Paul Singer https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2018/08/27/paul-singer-doomsday-investor

Paul Singer, Doomsday Investor
The head of Elliott Management has developed a uniquely adversarial, and immensely profitable, way of doing business.

Did anyone else watch the rebroadcast? All the comments were edited out. They are trying to silence the masses.

We need to form a union! Only together can we push back on Demon David and the Evil Elliot Investment firm.

In the meantime retaliate and sabotage anything that will hurt them.

Thank you to EVERYONE who commented. Made my damn year, seeing that labor solidarity.

Nielsen’s C suite clown car ran up insane debt, unfettered for so long, and we have to pay the price. I’ve only been here a few years, my team less. We all have to pay for their financial fu-k ups because they went off the rails, they then sold us to one of the most evil debt buying companies out there (look up
the New Yorker article, “doomsday investor”), and now we pay for their sins while they party on yachts in Cannes.

fu-k them all

I stormed out of the office yesterday as I was told that I will be most likely take over all duties (on top of mine) of one leaving member. I was too pi---d off to join the mtg. After reading these comments, I now regret not joining the mtg

Do not forget this is all about feeding Demon Davids greed not saving the company

Nielsen is filled with know-nothing middle management, clueless leadership, and the company has a massive, MASSIVE tech debt. All of the metering equipment is so old they barely work, and some of the in-house programs that need to be used by reps look like they were built in the 80's, and they probably were.

This company has made billions upon billions of dollars over the last few decades, and they're still too poor to pay Slack.

Need to send a message to David.

Sign of solidarity. Use some PTO hours to take the rest of day off. Sick and personal requests can not be questioned. Retaliation would be very obvious, leaders will just have to take it and smile, just like David.

Very sad closing to this town hall but an even sadder thought is people congratulating each other after the town hall.

Recap: We are going to layoff more people, the people that remain will have to take on more work, your pay will not increase, if you can’t handle it then leave, enjoy the rest of your day.

Someone should share a recording of the closing statements online.

David is so out of touch with the average Nielsen employee.

Take a vacation?!! Easy for you to say David. Your employees can’t even afford to pay our bills and you’re saying we should take time off? These people are so tone deaf. How about you pay us adequate wages so we can afford to live and continue working here.

As Nielsen continues to layoff the people who do the actual work the remaining leaders will actually have to get their hands dirty.

That will be entertaining to watch.

We need to unionize.

Our company is too management-heavy. We have too many "leaders" talking in circles and changing direction every day and not enough employees actually doing the work. I hope some of the management is considered in the layoff review.

I wonder which members of his board David will be laying off.

Does anyone get the feeling that Demon Dave is a sadist. He seems to actually enjoy ruining people’s lives.

“Quiet Abuse”, refusal to communicate the truth in order to control the message. Sounds about right.

David looked like a convict in that orange shirt. With the way they’re stealing our hard work without adequate pay, it was quite fitting.

The Q&A section is a highlight of my day. There is so much quiet abuse happening in a company once known for having more respect for their employees. We need a union.
