Basically going to go back to the way it was before the geniuses from Altice got their hands on it, at least that’s how it was in the SL markets. I’ll believe it when I see it. The micromanaging ego maniacs are incapable of this kind of structure. And of course the believe it to be “Their” idea.

Cannot go back to the way it was when you are 60 billion in debt
Doesn’t sound like he knows how to operate anywhere judging by the corruption probes.
PD may know how to operate in Europe and elsewhere in the world but in the States he is in way over his head. Whatever his plan, it was doomed from the very beginning because you cannot operate that way here. American consumers will go elsewhere when they encounter sub par service. And they continue to leave by the thousands.
Wait until the ATS , Excell scam comes out !!!!!! Money laundering at its finest
Great theory however things aren't looking too hot for them. The real pain is around the corner when debt catches up. Have you looked at public forum where customers speak about the company? It's the worst I've ever witnessed
I believe there’s a basic misunderstanding below: Altice never had any intention of maintaining the businesses built by either Cablevision or Suddenlink. They knew what most people in the industry knew; that due to the massive changes in technology that began in the late 90s the entire business model of the cable TV industry would be forced to change and change dramatically. In anticipation of those changes PD/Altice strategized to get their foot into the US market by acquiring CV/SL and stripping them down, combining their operations, furrowing as many existing older more expensive employees as possible via VRPs, and many of the other cost cutting efforts seen at both CV/SL. Additionally they could use their European operations to further support US operations for even more cost cutting. Think R&D at their Cablelabs. Despite paying a premium price for the companies they believed they could cut enough overhead to compensate for whatever customer loss was incurred as a result of these changes and the ensuing degradation of customer service. After all, everyone knew that cable companies would quickly be loosing customer income from cord cutting; a few more lost customers would just be the cost of doing business. Obviously they miscalculated. Even if the couldn’t succeed with their lean and mean new businesses, they’d still own the prime market in the US and be in the cat birds seat for a takeover or merger with any major players and make money on that. I don’t believe that there was ever any intention of maintaining any in-house technical operations whether it be FS, OSP or even ISP. The plan was always to replace us all with contractors.
never happen. Union Depots have in their contract they basically can't get rid of them to bring in contractors....but with that being said, I am sure they can change the metrics, make you look like you are not doing your job and pluck you off one by one. Just remember, there are other places that are union and find their way around them.....let's look at comcast for instance.
How long till this is a 100 percent based contractor employed field service work force???I see it real soon..Why would you still work there????Benefits su-k also..
I agree. 2015/2016 PD had two profitable and well ran MSO’s in Cablevision and Suddenlink, all he had to do was let the people who built those companies continue to run them in they manner that made them successful, but the arrogance of the Altice leadership was never going to let that happen. And literally everything they have touch has turned into a dumpster fire. Every day they demonstrate beyond a shadow of a doubt they have no clue how to run these companies, not the first clue. The teenagers mowing yards in our neighborhoods for the summer have far superior business models and practices than these people. They are an embarrassment to the industry quit frankly.
PD should have let Cablevision management run things the "Cablevision way".....just look at $400 a share Spectrum. They've been running it the Cablevision way for almost 10 years now and it works.....
Slid down that cliff long time ago.
Let’s wait until the company is running on fumes and sliding down the cliff into the ravine… then we will start running it properly and Pat ourselves on our backs accordingly.
The way it was wasn’t great either . Most corrupt , nepotistic company I’ve ever worked for. Y’all need to unionize, period. Don’t waste anymore time.
Never seen it so bad in 30 years. Blind leading the blind.
