Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

This is a game of nerves

It's a tense situation here. Can't they be a little more transparent and spare the employees some uncertainty because no one can be very productive and focused while worrying about whether and when they will lose their source of income?

I don’t have a ton of sympathy for them. They took a chance coming here to undercut citizens’ salaries and lost. They are being used by corporate America.

H1B visas should be eliminated.

when you say income - there is whole group of people on H1-B/L1 that are worries whenever they need to pack and go back to their home country after decades in US where their kids may not know what the 'home abroad' even so - paciently working their way up the bureaucratic ladder to get green-card

this be history once they handed pink slip - even when they get new job - green-card story starts all over again for next couple decades.

I am with you but for some that is more existential than for others.
