What a liberating question! It’s like talking about pay. When HR told me that I was leaving, I asked if they were leaving and they said yes. Then I started noticing others around that seemed to have one foot out the door and we had great conversations about their departure plans. Work is fun again.

Why yes, I am leaving. I signed up to work for Citrix. A company that no longer exists. Feels like signing up for the Navy just to end up running paddle boats at the kiddie pool. Quit, fired or lay off, I am out of here. Eventually thelayoff might get rid of the Citrix company entry it is that far gone.

There were no engineers on my team that got the lti grant. They are interviewing with more normal tech companies that have rsus.
I can only imagine what it must be like to be a staff person leftover in the Citrix HR team, frequent calls to the mental health crisis hotline. Just the thought of it is depressing.
