Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Layoffs are imminent

So apparently I got laid off yesterday for violating a policy at work that I didn't actually violate. Asked about it during the meeting and could not get a clear cut answer from my supervisor. The only thing I was told/promised was that I could apply to other positions in the company, that my unemployment would be approved and that I was getting a severance package as well.

My supervisor ended up getting laid off yesterday AFTER laying me off as well. This is over in the Specialty Department. Got laid off two weeks after asking if I could get a raise since I was getting other department responsibilities and no pay increase for it. Pretty sure it has a lot to do with them acquiring ChangeHealthcare.

Good lord the cr-p that is going on behind closed doors!🤨. It’s good this website exists so others can be proactive. Are you in Specialty RX? This is not a loss. Run don’t walk out that door.

OG anon here. I was asked to leave immediately. Confirmed with HR and supervisor about rehire, was told I could apply. Asked how long I had to look for work and was told it was effective immediately.

RIF reason with or without cause - This org would set you up before term date with "cause" - this is to avoid lawsuit. Have witnessed several high performers all of sudden got a low rating before being cut. Its CYA by this org. Keep your chin up and move on...Lack of integrity is the norm in this toxic environment...sadly

Sorry to hear this but probably a blessing in disguise. Curious… did they ask you to leave immediately or did they give you a few weeks? Asking for a friend that’s being impacted as well and wondering if they’re being consistent or not.

I find it odd you qualify for severance and eligible to be rehired if you were truly let go for violating a policy.

Be grateful you got severance. This is the cheapest large company I have ever worked for and run by short sighted anti-american leaders that are moving everything they can offshore at the expense of American jobs. UHG is a bad apple and boosts profits by hurting the majority of its workforce.
