Thread regarding Walgreens layoffs

There’s a lot of work to be done

Walgreens has allowed employee morale to deteriorate for years through poor compensation and unrealistic demands on it's workforce. It seems cost-cutting has been management's go to solution for turning a profit without consideration for how this affects the long-term prospects of the business. It will take a lot of playing catch up to turn the ship around.

@1uns+1mr2D0vR said it all.

This CE0 makes in a MONTH what worker in a store makes in a LIFETIME. Let that sink in. AND that is a fact. For doing nothing and driving the company to where it is at now. Seems no one cares, why?

The stock is down 50% in just over TWO years, AKA March 2021- 28 months to be exact- when RB came in. She’s the proverbial football coach who comes in & does great with the team another guy recruited, then it all falls apart. Hires her buddy brigade who are unqualified to flat out embarrassing, pushing out some of the most qualified and highly respected SMEs in the industry, the majority with double digit years of service and dedication to the Company. Dude over in Monte Carlo SHOULD be ashamed. As should the entire Board and Audit Committee. They just sit and watch the slow painful death of a once truly Great American-made company. Why??? Perhaps they fear being labeled a racist or misogynist for merely pointing out the emperor has no clothes. Or perhaps it’s because they have 👀 on them now- Jarrett was seated on the Board in Nov 2020, WBA began vaccinating Dec 2020, and recently RB was named to a Committee at 1600 for which she seems to hold no expertise🙄 Regardless- even if she were the world’s foremost expert- doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see the brazen conflicts of interests here.
But not the WBA Board or the very few remaining executives who aren’t RB BFFs… Nope. Pay no attention to the POCs behind the curtain.
She’ll leave… once she collects her $25mil bonus. Not before.

You hear nothing from the so called CEO or so called upper management to its employees ever, now why would that be? Lawsuits all over the place, settling for BILLIONS in payouts, poor results, stock at 29 a share....down over 50% the last FIVE years, now complaining because covid business business is way down...no kidding that was all an extra gift for business and now it gone and you complain sales are not up..You didn't plan for after covid...thats POOR management. What do these so called leaders do all day, seriously what do they do. Oh ya, cut hours in stores that's what they do. Save money from people making $15/$16 an hour. That is why so many leave and the only ones that they can get hired are the ones no one else will hire. Not hard to figure out.
