Thread regarding Synamedia layoffs

Who and what to blame the most?

I used to be proud to work here but these days I often get angry when I see what the company has turned into. It's hard to tell who should take the most blame for such a shameful fall.

I blame Comcast myself. They are effing useless. they own 20% of the shares and cause 80% of the trouble. The pareto effect gone mad.

They want to ki-l the business so they can buy it for almost zero.

2012 - NDS to Cisco .. 5,000 employees
2018 - Cisco to Permira .. 2,500 employees
2023 - 1100 employees ?

It isn't loaded with debt ( £259 million ) but they have missed the boat on IPO. So they cant do what they did to the AA ie loaded with debt and flotation. So what's the rumble , managed decline followed by sale of any still valuable intellectual property ? What other vampiric methods does private equity use .

The finastra mafia and their lackeys brought upon us operational imbroglio in many core business functions. I think this lack of ability to execute much from a business ops standpoint without a mountain of bureaucracy or just straight bad choices caused an effect throughout the business. We couldn’t adopt new technology or really do much new at all since our core operations function is always behind and struggling to actually operate in a way that encourages innovation. Synamedia operates like we did 10+ years ago when indeed - we needed an efficient startup mentality we never got. We had a lot of ex Cisco management slowly milking products to death and not actually listening to customer needs or even looking at the future of the industry. Even this new SaaS push is likely to fail - do our customers even want this sh-t?

It's not at all hard. The buck stops with the ELT.

It's all good. FY24 imperative number 4 subsection 5 states "resolve fy22 bonus". One assumes that "resolve" is CEO speak for "Pay the employees what they were promised"

Don't be angry - companies do fail under inept leadership. If they didn't then capitalism would be in trouble!
