Call work dying—layoffs?

I’m in E&I specialty benefits. Members can now self service payment for products online and we barely get any calls. Sometimes we sit waiting for a call from 20-30 minutes. I’ve been trying to get another job for months but haven’t landed anything yet. Will they cut these roles due to more independence/automation for customers? At this point I wouldn’t mind getting laid off if I haven’t landed another job yet.

When would these types of roles be cut if any coming up?

So true. They hire off the street in the Philippines. If they can turn on a computer, they get the job. No other skill required.

They will and they would rather have someone in the Philippines sit idle for for an hour for $10/hour (tops).

They don't care that we are hurting for money in the US. They will let you starve at the "drop of a dime" to replace you with people overseas who make mistakes on everything and hate being corrected.

Find another job ASAP.
