I’m ready. Bring ‘em on. Back to the good old days. October was always the big round, but I think things are so dire that the hiney exhausts the gas in Sept this year.

Guidance for the 2nd half is not good. Reductions will happen.

Sell Mist wish we could have but it wasn't ready for my customer set didn't have the FEDRAMP certificates. I do agree many of the AE's are farmers and will be gone in the next 16 months but I don't think Juniper is going to find it easy to find good replacements, replacements year , more Brocade folks no doubt but when was Brocade every a networking powerhouse, they bought Foundry and then let it stagnate as it wasn't the focus of their real energy. Sold it off piecemeal. I wish Juniper luck but Cisco and Arista will eat their lunch in the Enterprise and Public sectors going forward, much more aggressive sales force, focused, and customer centric.. also a much better story to tell in several markets.

What I meant was, ‘dining out on old technology’ in the way that what is selling is not as a result of Juniper, it’s strategy, it’s management, or it’s sellers… I’d go as far as saying it’s sellers are order takers from the channel and they sell Networking technology to those that want an alternative from Cisco.

Sellers don’t sell, they order take… you can’t ask them to sell something, only deliver what the customer wants to buy or been asked to quote on.

Solution sale?.. what’s that? Juniper sellers lead with and end with MIST… but don’t use it as a door opener, that’s all they proactively sell..

@2hke+1nDEpgv5 "The reality is, Juniper is dining out on the same technology, the same clients and a backlog of orders… when any of these dry up, it’s bound to start laying off employees… it’s just a matter of time.." - no, this isn't the reality - unless you mean because the AMs are not selling the new stuff, not hunting, and instead continuing to lazily farm existing accounts

Classic case of not knowing how to address a customers pain points, each business unit is a silo, management wouldn’t have a clue about cross XBT or selling solutions, only reacting to what customers ask for or processing orders from partners…
Managers come in and there’s emphasis on ‘the magpie effect’… sell this because it’s new… or because it’s easy… or because that’s what we will target you on… rather than understanding that the suite of solutions from networking, routing, switching, wired/wireless assurance could solve more than one customers issue… classic case of the left hand having no connection to the right hand…

Clueless and rudderless management… marketing pushing what product management are creating without asking what the customer actually wants, needs or is buying… outgunned in every area, with maybe the exception of MIST… but that’s not a big ticket sale…

The reality is, Juniper is dining out on the same technology, the same clients and a backlog of orders… when any of these dry up, it’s bound to start laying off employees… it’s just a matter of time..

Another round? They already hit over 200 at the end of May. Juniper over hired during covid then is not making the profits they thought they would in fact are pretty much stagnant if not behind YOY. Changes in management didn't help. Many of the new guys came in and fired folks so they could bring in their own buddies often with less experience than those let go, but upper management looked the other way as it gave them something to tell the boat while they got the golden parachutes ready.
